Deleting your account

You can delete your Khurak account and everything in it yourself, at any time, without asking us. This page exists so the instructions are readable by somebody who has already removed the app.
In the app
Open Settings, then Your account, then Delete account. Read the confirmation and tap Delete my account. It happens immediately. There is no waiting period and no way to undo it.
If you have already removed the app from your phone, you do not need to install it again: write to us by email, below. Or, if you prefer, install it, sign in with the same phone number and follow the same three taps.
By email
If you cannot sign in at all, write to [email protected] from anywhere and tell us the phone number the account uses. We will verify that the number is yours before deleting anything, and we answer within 30 days as the law requires, usually far sooner.
What is deleted
- Your account record, your display name, your profile photo and your phone number.
- Your messages, their translations and the readings Khurak produced about them.
- Your voice notes, both the audio and the transcripts.
- Your call history, your shared dictionary entries and your Decoder threads.
- Your conversations, and your side of every one you were in.
A conversation belongs to two people. Deleting your account destroys your side of it. The other person keeps their own copy of what the two of you said, because it is their personal data as much as yours. This is explained in full in the privacy notice.
What is not deleted, and why
- A subscription bought in the App Store or Google Play. Only the store can stop that billing. Cancel it where you bought it, before or after deleting, or it keeps charging. A subscription paid by card or PromptPay is cancelled for you as part of the deletion.
- Database backups, for up to fourteen days. Deleted rows survive in backup snapshots until those snapshots age out. If a backup is ever restored, the erasure is applied again. Nothing reachable by any live request survives the deletion.
Getting a copy first
Deletion is final, so if you want to keep what was said, ask for your data before you delete: write to [email protected] and we send a file containing everything Khurak holds about your account.
